This provides a new English translation of the two Greek texts in which Plato presents the Atlantis story. The translation aims to be accurate to the Greek and also to offer a modern equivalent for Plato’s narrative style, which is philosophically suggestive, though not couched in complex or technical language. The translation is also referred to in notes in the commentary on the meaning and translation of the Greek texts. The translation includes the standard Stephanus page and paragraph numbers which are also found in the Greek text and commentary and in all other modern editions or translations of this work.
