This chapter iterates the journey that the horror genre endured from its slow rise starting from the late 1950s to the recent day. It talks about the difficulties that were brought about by the invention of the VCR, video nasties, and how regulators had stepped in. The chapter talks about some of the concerns people had about sexual and sadistic violence. It discusses the revival of Victorian crime genre and how the horror genre may possibly never benefit from another Hammer studio. It also discusses the remnants of what used to be the horror genre, enumerating several films from the 2010s that keep the horror genre and its heritage alive.
