Tanteamos siglos en lo oscuro. Sin embargo queda un brillo mínimo allá, en lo hondo, que cada uno rastrea con los instrumentos que le quedan. Pedernal, afiladores de concha marina, palo de santo, pequeños cuchillos, lanzadores, huesos delicados de animales, grasa, punzones, maza de roble, dagas o cuchillos de mesa bruñidos por la vanguardia, cueros suaves, mordillos. Usamos hasta la extenuación los dientes para bruñir los vidrios opacos que dificultan el paso de la luz. Nunca son suficientes nuestras herramientas. Pero esa luz, así, corta los acantilados a pique y alcanza a revelarse contra el fondo siempre oscuro de la iniquidad, el habla de los dioses que la amparan siempre, brilla contra la consagración de sus ejecutores....
