This chapter argues that over four decades Cruising evolved from a ‘film maudit’ to an international cult hit. Even the soundtrack LP developed a cult following, with the title song appearing in Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof. Cruising has also been spoofed as well as referred to in the homage Interior, Leather Bar by James Franco.
