This section includes an attempt to identify the weapon used to inflict the penetrating chest injury found in Takabuti’s mummy (see Chapter 4, pp. 91–95), in the hope that this might throw some light on the circumstances of the attack. Was Takabuti the victim of violence within her family, or was the wound inflicted by soldiers, perhaps when the Assyrians laid siege to Thebes, or during other times of local unrest and conflict that continued throughout the 25th Dynasty?...
