This chapter examines Lovecraft's life and work between 1927 and 1928. It considers his most notable works during the period, The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, and ‘The Colour out of Space’. The chapter also describes Lovecraft's gathering of colleagues specifically devoted to weird fiction and his provision of revisionary services to other writers.
