Global warming
This chapter discusses global warming as a result of the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is the mechanism whereby the sun's rays reaches the atmosphere and the gas layer allows short-wave solar radiation to pass through and warm the earth's surface. The gases responsible for causing the greenhouse effect are carbon dioxide, water vapour, methane, nitrous oxide and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). When the levels of these greenhouse gases increase, the overall temperature of the earth will increase. The chapter also presents some arguments about global warming and its impact on climate and agriculture.
