This chapter examines the 1988 book Bienvenue dans le monde du Sida! narrated in the first person by investigative journalist Mike Winer. It explains the plot of the story including the pregnancy of Winer's fiancée, his unprotected sex with a woman named Mona Hessler and his symptoms of AIDS. It suggests that the main lesson of the book is that heterosexual monogamous sexuality is the only way to be and stay safe from the HIV virus.
