This chapter describes the pregnancy of Oxford's wife Anne and preparations for his travel abroad. These included the drawing up of an important settlement on 30 January 1575 based on the possibility that he might not survive the journey. The chapter also details Oxford's debts and his initial travelling companions. Oxford may have left London during the first week of February.
