Starting Over
This chapter details the 11 November 1581 lawsuit filed by Oxford for guardianship of four–year–old Henry Bullocke of Much Wigbrowe, Essex. Henry was made a ward by the death of his father. Whatever Oxford thought about his upbringing by Burghley, he was ready, like his father before him, to profit from wardship. It also describes Oxford's reconciliation with Anne.
