This chapter discusses the life story of Jack Kahane, the Manchester–born founder of Obelisk Press in Paris, France. It explains that Kahane was a novelist and short story writer in the 1920s, founded Obelisk in 1929, and introduced American author Henry Miller to the world with the publication of Tropic of Cancer. It mentions that Kahane's business plan was forged by necessity and highlights his long–standing love for France.
