This chapter discusses observations about the book collection in Dr. Faustroll's library. It highlights the conclusion of the livres pairs with Le Voyage au Centre de la Terre and suggests that the collection provides insights into the interests of Alfred Jarry and to certain aspects of the literary orientation of the period. It also contends that the collection reflects changes in literary taste as some of the authors in Dr. Faustroll's library do not feature in today's general reading of the Belle Epoque.
