Introduction to Part II
Introduction to Part II
This chapter illustrates the scope of the issues in the transition phase of the Republican and British state peace process together with its clashing ambiguities and criticisms. This portion also sets the tone of the following chapters, uniting the process of transition in the first few chapters with the origins, inner workings, and mechanisms of the shifting ideologies. It also describes the themes that are presented in the next few chapters and how these themes – new types of identity politics – take on a different appearance towards the ambiguous breakaway from traditional Republicanism.
