This chapter examines the work of Ramsey Campbell, particularly the influence of H. P. Lovecraft. Campbell describes his debt to Lovecraft as one that progressed from surface imitation to explorations of the underlying sense of wonder and orchestrated structure in his stories. His works include The Parasite (1980), Incarnate (1983), The Hungry Moon (1986), Ancient Images (1989), and Secret Stories (2005).
