MacBride and the Campaign after the Publication of the Principles
MacBride and the Campaign after the Publication of the Principles
This chapter describes the campaign activities following the publication of the MacBride Principles. These include Sr Regina's distribution of a three-part plan of action to all the members of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, three days after the Washington launch of the Principles, on 7 November 1984. On 4 February 1985, Comptroller Goldin proposed that the five employee pension systems of New York City should ‘adopt a comprehensive programme to decrease discrimination in Northern Ireland’; the centrepiece of his plan was to be support for the MacBride Principles.
