This chapter introduces the Aquaforte station within the wider context of both Newfoundland and global whaling. It also examines the shift from traditional to modern whaling technologies. It also discusses the products generated by whaling, the transport of products, and provides information about that habitats and populations of Humpback, Blue, and Fin Whales.
