A close reading of four novels published in 2011and promoted as narratives of the years of the Transición. Shaped by the experience and memory of this period, the authors of these novels remember, recreate and imagine a past that is deeply connected to the present.The chapter argues how these narratives should be examined for the endurance of the memories they contain and the continued ability of these recollections to affect as gestures to the future.
